Overview
Karina Harduvel joined Walton Lantaff Schroeder & Carson LLP as a law clerk in January of 2016, while still a law student. In September 2022, Ms. Harduvel rejoined the firm as an associate. Currently, Ms. Harduvel primarily practices insurance defense, representing insurance carriers from case inception through trial.
Before joining Walton Lantaff Schroeder & Carson, Ms. Harduvel served as an Assistant State Attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. While at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, she handled thousands of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors, DUIs, to second and third-degree felonies. Throughout the years, she was promoted from County Training Attorney, where she supervised multiple attorneys on the practice of criminal law by guiding them as they prepared their cases for trial, to Assistant Chief of the DUI/ Traffic Unit of County Court where she oversaw all county courtrooms regarding any DUI/Traffic matter.
Ms. Harduvel received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Minor in Business from Florida State University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she served as the President of the St. Thomas University School of Law Trial Team. While President of the organization, Ms. Harduvel was a recipient of the American Board of Trial Advocates Scholarship after winning the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Regional and National Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ms. Harduvel serves as a mentor and Trial Team coach at St. Thomas University School of Law, assisting law students to prepare for trial competitions nationwide.
